Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q)

Q: Is there any charge to use your housing service?
A: Yes, there is a one-time (one flat amount) housing service fee, which is     quite decent, to find the right place for you.

Q: Who pays this charge, the landlord or the tenant?
A: The tenant.

Q: How much is the housing service fee?
A: It depends on what you are looking for. This is the reason why we need     a rather detailed description of what you are seeking, not only to     determine the appropriate amount of fee applicable to your case, but     also to get the most suitable place for you.

Q: What information do you need to search for my      apartment/housing?
A: Location of apartment (e.g. Toronto, Mississauga, Etobicoke, Hamilton,      London, Scarborough)
    -Preferred city area, if any
    -Number of tenants
    -Number of bedrooms
    -Furnished or unfurnished
    -Move-in date
-Rental period (number of months for a short term or “at least 1 year” for      a long term)
-Whether any pets. If yes, number of pets (if a dog, also the breed &      weight)
-Your budget range for rent per month
-Where you live now (just the city or city area, not your precise      address; preferably also your phone number)

Q: How do you know if a place is suitable for me?
A: Before we suggest the apartments to you, we look up the places first     and take our own photos. This is to ensure that options to be offered to     you as much as possible conform to what you have described in your     inquiry.

Q: Just what information do you give me in your offer of options?
A: The description of each apartment or property (including its general     location), its monthly rent, as well as photos taken by our own staff.

Q: When do I get this offer of options?
A: After you have paid our one-time unrefundable advance of CA$50. (Your     housing service fee will be less by this amount).

Q: What happens if I don’t like all the options offered me?
A: We will send you another set of options for you to choose, without     having to pay the CA$50 again, because it’s one-time.

Q: May I choose more than one option?
A: Yes

Q: What do I do when I am interested in 1 or 2 options offered?
A: You pay your remaining housing service fee, i.e. your housing service fee     less CA$50, and we send the complete address(es) of the apartment(s),     as well as the contact information of the landlord(s), so that you may     make arrangements to secure one of the places you are interested in.

Q: Is it a close case for you once you have received my remaining      housing service fee?
A: No. We will monitor your case till you have secured an apartment of your     choice.

Q: What happens if I don’t like the places that I have chosen after I      have seen them in person?
A: If your refusal is reasonable, we will offer you other options, without any     more charge.

Q: May I ask for a refund of my remaining housing service fee if in the      meantime I have found an apartment on my own?
A: Yes, we will refund 30% of your remaining housing service fee. 70% is     not refundable.

Q: Why do you say “one-time” advance and “one-time” housing      service fee?
A: You need NOT pay the advance or the remaining housing service fee     again till you have secured an apartment of your choice, provided failure     of securing an apartment is NOT through your fault, like deliberately     delaying to contact the landlord to reserve a place.

Q: How do I pay your advance and the remaining housing service fee?
A: To our PayPal account on our secure Housing Service page using your     credit card.

Q: I am not a PayPal member—how can I make payments to your      PayPal account?
A: You don’t need to be a PayPal member to make a payment to a PayPal     account.
